The most socially significant and personally important topic today is health and how information about health reaches diverse audiences. The Department of Communication at the Rochester Institute of Technology is offering an one-day symposium focusing on Health Communication, Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Louise Slaughter Building (CIMS) on the RIT campus. We will be focusing on a variety of aspects of Health Communication including (but not limited to) doctor-patient communication, community health message education, reporting on health, and health campaigns.
This symposium will appeal to students, faculty, practitioners, and community members as a means to examine the way that communication strategies are used to inform and influence individuals and community decisions that enhance health.
If you would like to join us please register here.
Funding support for the Health Communication Symposium provided by the RIT College of Liberal Arts, the William A. Kern Communications endowment, and the RIT Office of Student Affairs.
