Earning a Journalism degree requires the completion of a minimum of 187 to 189 quarter credit hours, depending on the professional core, distributed as follows: 

  • 16 required journalism courses (64 credit hours)
  • six courses which constitute the your professional core (21-23 credit hours)
  • six courses of general education (24 credits)
  • 14 Liberal Arts courses (56 credits)
  • two one-credit First Year Enrichment courses (two credits)
  • 20 credits of Institute-wide electives
  • two quarters of Co-op
  • and a senior project
