Classes and Advising

Earning a Journalism degree requires the completion of a minimum of 187 to 189 quarter credit hours, depending on the professional core, distributed as follows:
- 16 required journalism courses (64 credit hours)
- six courses which constitute the your professional core (21-23 credit hours)
- six courses of general education (24 credits)
- 14 Liberal Arts courses (56 credits)
- two one-credit First Year Enrichment courses (two credits)
- 20 credits of Institute-wide electives
- two quarters of Co-op
- and a senior project
