Department of Communication, Rochester Institute of Technology
The Department of Communication, housed within RIT's College of Liberal Arts, is home to three degree programs: since 1986, a B.S. degree in Professional & Technical Communication (PTC), since 2001, an M.S. degree in Communication & Media Technologies (CMT), and a B.S. degree in Advertising & Public Relations (APR) starting Fall 2005. There are twelve full-time faculty, and a number of adjuncts. The department is home to the William A. Kern Professor in Communications.

galleryblue
Galleryblue provides a showcase for marketing professional art to an informed fine arts public. Blue was founded July 15th 2005, in Rochester, NY. It is a classically open gallery space on the second floor of the historical art deco style Medical Arts building in the East End of Rochester.

George Eastman House
The world famous center for imaging history, the George Eastman House holds more than 400,000 photographs and negatives dating from the invention of photography to the present, and offers research opportunities for scholars of visual communication.

Memorial Art Gallery
Considered an exhibit of architecture in it's own right, this gallery houses more than 5000 years of art history. Since its founding in 1913, the gallery's collection has grown to over 10,000 objects of art and antiquity.

Rochestser Museum & Science Center
Known across Western New York as a premier museum of science, the RMSC contains many interactive exhibits, programs and crafts. The center's exhibits focus on natural history, anthropology, local history and astronomy.

Strong Museum
Also features interactive exhibits and programs. Strong Museum also holds a wealth of objects of Americana. The Advertising Materials collection may be of particular interest to some visitors. The collection contains advertising archives dating back to 1840.

Susan B. Anthony House
Present museum and former home of Susan B. Anthony. This National Historic Landmark houses photographs, documents and historic artifacts detailing the works and life of this remarkable woman's life.

Visual Studies Workshop
This center for media studies has continuous programs for community artitsts and the public alike to develop and explore the "world" of visual communication. Studies at the VSW include photography, visual books, electronic imaging and film.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial of Greater Rochester
The War Memorial is a "not for profit agency whose sole mission is to create and maintain a living, educational memorial in Rochester, New York. It commemorates the service, valor, and sacrifice of more than 28,000 Vietnam Veterans from our six county region as well as the 280 men who gave the ultimate sacrifice," in an unusual visual display.

The Little Theaters
Rochester ’s unique 5-screen publicly owned independent and foreign film theater includes a jazz café and a gallery, in addition to the newest film releases.

The National Women’s Hall of Fame
Located in historic Seneca Falls NY, meeting place of the first women’s rights convention, the National Women’s Hall of Fame is a one of kind museum a short drive from Rochester.
