High Schoolers: Win an iPad in the second annual Wordistry Contest

Rochester-area high school students are invited to participate in a language-creation contest: "Wordistry" -- invent a word with a definition, get it “liked”, and win an iPad!

Entering the contest is simple. Click the link below and you will be taken to the official entry page. From there you can enter your new word on the Wordistry Facebook page.  At the close of the contest on April 30, 2014 the words receiving the most “likes” will be finalists put before a panel of RIT faculty and student judges.  All finalists win prizes -- the first place winner will receive a new iPad!  Finalists will be contact on May 1, 2014.  The winner will be announced and to be presented with a new iPad at the Imagine RIT Festival, Saturday May 3, 2014.

Here are a few examples for last year's contest:

Techista - a person that must always have the latest and greatest technology, and usually feels the need to show off all of their new technology and its new features; how it is much more superior than the predecessor

Snorrific - that wonderful, relaxing feeling you get just as you're falling asleep

Rhombular -  used to describe the characteristics of a rhombus or other object; having the property of being both tubular, slightly out of square, and completely awesome

Endowerate - one who feels they are owed to be in control of reality; God like

So get started now!  Brainstorm with your teachers and friends. Enter your best stuff.  Spread the word and get as many “likes” as you can.
