Stan McKenzie Salon Series 2015-16 Opens with Talk Featuring Professors Mandell, Martin, and Schroeder

Hinda Mandell, Kelly Martin, and Jonathan Schroeder of the School of Communication and Meredith Davenport of Photographic Arts and Sciences (CIAS) will present “Interdisciplinary Looks at Troubling Images” as the inaugural presentation of the Stan McKenzie Salon Series for the 2015-2016 academic year.  The talk grows out of presentations at the 2012 Kern Conference in Visual Communication, hosted by Schroeder, the William A. Kern Professor in Communications.  That conference led to a special issue of the journal Visual Communication Quarterly entitled “When Images Cause Trouble,” which was co-edited by Professors Martin and Schroeder and included an article co-authored by Professors Martin and Mandell.

The talk will take place on Wednesday, September 30 at 4:30 PM in the Stan McKenzie Commons following a reception beginning at 4 PM.  Contact Michael Laver at mslgsh@rit.edu for further details.
