Liberal Arts Concentrations
EST - Environmental Studies
Concentration Advisor: Richard Shearman (01-3236, rlsgsh@rit.edu)This concentration will include an examination of some of the basic environmental problems we face, how environmental resource depletion and energy issues are related, and what kind of an environmental ethic or environmental values we have today and have had in the past. It will also explore the economics, legislative and regulatory framework within which most environmental decisions have made. Since most of the technological areas which are supplying careers for RIT graduates have significant environmental implications associated with them, it is essential that students have an understanding of, and a well thought out value orientation about such environmental consequences.
