Arthur J. Gosnell Professor in Economics

The Gosnell Professor of Economics teaches upper division courses in Benefit-Cost Analysis, Intermediate Microeconomics, and International Trade and Finance. Second, heconducts original research in applied microeconomic theory with an emphasis onnatural resources and the environment. He has published (http://www.rit.edu/~aabgsh/) over 400 books, book chapters, journal articles, and book reviews in various fields in economics and in ecology, mathematics, operations research, and political science. Third, he sponsors the Gosnell Lecture Series (http://www.rit.edu/~697www/gosnell.html) that brings prominent researchers to RIT to deliver general purpose lectures to the RIT community. Finally, he frequently presents his research to audiences in universities and in conferences all over the world.

Diane S. Hope serves as the William A. Kern Professor in Communications and teaches courses in Visual Communication, Persuasion and Social Change and Critical Methods for the department of Communication (http://www2.rit.edu/doc/). She publishes in the areas of visual communication and the rhetoric of social change. Her book, Visual Communication: Perception, Rhetoric and Technology (2006) won the National Communication Association Excellence in Research Award from the Visual Communication Division in 2007. She has published numerous articles, book chapters and book reviews. Hope directs the biennial Kern Communication Conference Visual Communication: Rhetorics and Technology and conferences on Communication and Social Change on alternate years (www.rit.edu/kern).
