Sightseeing

 

The Conference Excursion is on Saturday, July 21st, leaving Calgary after a morning session and returning in the evening. The cost is $40 per person for the bus, and that includes the entry fee to Banff National Park. Among the sites to visit? The Hoodoos, Surprise Corner, Bow Falls, and the Minnewanka Loop. We shall also have approximately three hours to hike several different trails, take the gondola up Sulphur Mountain, or enjoy downtown Banff or perhaps the Banff Park Museum.

There is much more to see in Calgary and the surrounding area. You may want to check out the following:

1. A New York Times Guide: This includes a number of articles about Calgary and its environs as well as suggestions about where to stay, where to eat, and what to do.

2. TripAdvisor -- with detailed comments by visitors on suggested sites to visit.

3. The official Calgary tourist site. This includes links for accommodations as well as sightseeing and other information for visitors. You might also check out a site for Calgary attractions that has coupons for Heritage Park, the Zoo, and so on.

4. Banff National park is nearby, and for those who wish to visit, there is the site of the National Park Service as well as a site for the park itself. Links from these two sites will provide you with information about where to stay, how to get to Banff, what to see, and so on.
