The conference hotel is the Strathallan Hotel, a Doubletree by Hilton hotel., which is located at 550 East Avenue in Rochester. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and clubs nearby, as well as several museums, including the Memorial Art Gallery, The George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film, and the Rochester Museum and Science Center. The hotel is on the border of the compact but vibrant “Neighborhood of the Arts.”

The Rochester airport is close to the Strathallan Hotel. As an alternative, the Buffalo airport is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Amtrak rail also serves Rochester. There is a convenient shuttle service between the hotel and the Rochester airport, which can be arranged with the hotel. We have a block of rooms reserved at the University rate, under the Kern conference. The hotel has a pleasant lounge and restaurant, outdoor spaces, a small workout room, and a pool.

Attendees are expected to register for the conference, which is subsidized by the Kern endowment. Registration will include entrance to the George Eastman House, several meals, coffee breaks, and conference materials. There is a separate fee for the conference dinner, planned for Friday April 25 at the hotel.
