Technology Innovation: 3D Printing and Multi-rotors DroneSteven Forney, of Huntsville, Alabama. He is currently working for Systems Management and Production Center (SMAP) as Research Associate. SMAP is one of largest research departments at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). He received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at RIT. For the last ten years, his experiences with reverse engineering, internships at the UAH, gain of education and knowledge at RIT provided him the opportunities to work in the area of technology innovation; 3D printing and multi-rotors drone technology. Communicating Connections

The Professional Career Development Workshop "Communicating Connections" is a unique opportunity for students to receive mentoring and feedback from communication experts and professionals in the community. The event sponsored by the School of Communication, College of Liberal Arts, organized by Professors Ammina Kothari and Keri Barone, was inaugurated in 2013. In 2013 the response from students was overwhelmingly positive as they visited more than 10 workshops or talks about topics ranging from personal branding to resume building. All students, particularly those enrolled in classes offered by the School of Communication, are welcome to register for the event and attend as many sessions as their schedules allow.This year's event will have 20 unique sessions ranging from workshops on how to write a traditional resume and cover letter, or a more contemporary "info graphic," to help with grad-school applications, various talks by marketing and branding experts, and much more!8am-5pm in CIMS March 3, 2015. The Knight Speaker Series features David Cohn, an executive producer at AJ Plus,part of Al Jazeera's research and development team,leading efforts to turn a broadcast organization into a digital operation. Before that he was the Chief Content Officer of Circa, a startup redefining how news is consumed on the mobile phone and one of the first organizations to experiment with atomized news structures or “object oriented journalism.” In 2008 he created the first platform to crowdfund journalism. He has written for Wired, Seed, Columbia Journalism Review and The New York Times among other publications.In 2010 he was named one of the “Ten Under 30” by Folio magazine and in 2013 Columbia's Journalism School gave him the Alumni Innovation Award.On March 2, 2015 at 4PM in room 1251 McKenzie Commons in Liberal Arts Hall, David will discuss "Carpe Prescribo": Technology and media have always been intertwined. The last decade has seen a collision course. But journalism and journalists will always be needed. So how can we be masters of our domain? In this talk David Cohn will talk about his unique career path which has focused on entrepreneurship and the melding of technology and media.
