Student Spotlight: Katie Harris
Katie Harris is a fourth year Advertising and Public Relations major who serves as a peer mentor for the College of Liberal Arts in the Department of Communication.
She accepted the position after a former peer mentor told her she would be a good fit for the job, and has gained valuable experience from her position, both in terms
of event planning and leadership.
Although Harris was initially hesitant to come to RIT, she fell in love with the school upon arriving. Now, Katie is an active member of the College of Liberal Arts
and the RIT community. She has spent three years working with incoming freshmen during New Student Orientation, and two years with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
She is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), as well as Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association's official student honor
society. She is currently on co-op with the Imagine RIT planning committee.
Post-graduation, Harris will seek employment within her field of study. Having minored in Spanish, she is also interested in relocating to Spain for some time.
