COLA Connections Newsletter: Summer 2017

From the Desk of the Dean

Welcome to our summer edition of COLA Connections!  This issue follows one of our most memorable graduation ceremonies ever, whereby over 200 students walked the stage to the cheers and applause of proud family members, friends, faculty, and staff.  The college is especially appreciative of the exceptional staff support we received in the weeks leading up to this important event. Thank you for all that you do!

In this edition of COLA Connections, we’ll highlight our spring production of The Love of Three Oranges, a topical “commedia dell’arte” first performed in 18th century Italy and updated for our modern RIT audience.  We’ll also showcase several of our faculty-led study abroad programs, which will take students across the globe to Portugal, Croatia, Ecuador, Cuba and Jamaica.

Our Alumni Spotlight will shine its light on Dr. Bryan Comer, a Public Policy graduate who works at the International Council on Clean Transportation, an independent think-tank in Washington, DC that provides technical and scientific analysis to environmental regulators.  Finally, we’ll celebrate the amazing students who were awarded scholarships this year through our endowed scholarship funds.

I hope you enjoy this edition of COLA Connections and find time to relax and recharge this summer.  Of course, if you have any comments or questions about the stories contained herein, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in the college.
