Office of Student Services:
John joined RIT College of Liberal Arts Student Services as Director in 2001. He received his Bachelor’s degree in History from Roberts Wesleyan College and Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Rochester. Prior to RIT, he held various administrative positions at the University of Rochester and New York Chiropractic College. He enjoys working with students and helping them achieve their academic and career goals and also teaches a section of the Career Exploration Seminar every fall quarter. John and his wife live in Chili and enjoy spending time with family and friends and they love traveling (especially to places with warm climates). They have taken trips to California, the Caribbean, and Mexico.
Linda has been with RIT for 20 years - the last 8 years as Scheduling Officer for the College of Liberal Arts. As a scheduling officer she works closely with the Liberal Arts departments and degree program chairpersons and their staff assistants; the scheduling officers in the other colleges; and the Registrar's Office to offer a variety of courses for all of the students at RIT. Linda is an alumna of SUNY Alfred earning an associate's degree in executive secretarial science. She is married with three children and 8 grandchildren. Some of her favorite things are reading, movies, music, gardening, spending time at the family cottage, and being an active part of her church family.
Marcia has enjoyed working with students in her academic advising role within the College of Liberal Arts Student Services Office for over 10 years of her 19 years of service to RIT. She is an alumna of RIT with a BS in Multidisciplinary Studies and an MS in Human Resources Development. Marcia recently earned a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising offered through Kansas State University and the National Academic Advising Association of which she is also a member. Marcia is responsible for advising students on their liberal arts courses in the College of Science (COS), Gleason College of Engineering (COE), Golisano College of Computing and Information Science (GCCIS), and National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID). Marcia enjoys working with students and is committed to their success.
Jonathan is currently in his third year as Academic Advisor in the College of Liberal Arts. Born and raised in Rochester, he prodigally returned to the area after working in admissions for his alma mater St. Lawrence University, where he graduated with a degree in Speech and Theatre and minored in Biology and Education. An avid traveler, his passport includes stamps from Kenya and most of Europe. In addition to being a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan, Jonathan can be seen acting all over the Rochester theatre scene, as well as commercial and short film work. When not advising students from the College of Imagine Arts and Science (CIAS), the College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST), and Saunders College of Business (SCOB), he is a mentor for the College Restoration Program and advisor for the Organization of African Students.
Jeanne joined the College of Liberal Arts Student Services Office in February 2007. As the Records and Registration Assistant, she is responsible for maintaining all the official academic records for the students in the degree programs in the College. Prior to RIT, Jeanne spent many years in various customer service roles in the travel industry both in Rochester and the New York City area. Her numerous years of customer service experience serve her well in her role assisting students, faculty and staff. Jeanne is originally from Long Island, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Hofstra Universtiy.
Carol has been the Scheduling Assistant in the College of Liberal Arts since December 2006. Carol has over 10 years of work experience in higher education which includes working as Technical Assistant to the Dean at Genesee Community College and Administrative Assistant to the Director of Education at Bryant and Stratton College. She also earned an AS degree in Administrative Assistant and Microcomputer Applications from Bryant and Stratton College. Carol is responsible for scheduling classrooms for the College of Liberal Arts and enjoys working with faculty, staff, and students.
Heidi is an alumna of RIT and joined the College of Liberal Arts as the Front Desk Assistant in January 2008. She previously worked at Highland Hospital as a special projects manager for the laboratory. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Northern Arizona University. Heidi enjoys working with the students, faculty and staff. Her goal is to make life more efficient for the staff, students, her husband and their four boys.
