-
Internal Transfer
A main objective of this program is to retain students at RIT. We expect that transfers from within RIT will originate among students who are uncertain about their career choice or students in technology , engineering and other programs, who find themselves unsuited for the highly technical and analytical aspects of those programs and who are considering a career change. Some of these students are temporarily enrolled in the Technical and Liberal Studies Option offered by the College of Liberal Arts.
This psychology major will be an attractive program to these students. Since the first two years of the program are devoted primarily to required liberal arts, science and mathematics education, these students would have much of the mandatory work completed and could transfer into the psychology program with minimum loss of time. The large proportion of institute electives including the technical/professional immersion also facilitates the transition.
