Research Interests: 
Personality Assessment, History of Psychology

Professor Merydith has been at the Rochester Institute of Technology since 2002. He is the former chair of the Department of School Psychology (2002- 2010) and a faculty member in the Department of Psychology since 2011.  He has published in the area of personality assessment with a focus on investigating the effectiveness of validity scales in detecting the response-taking attitudes of adolescents.  Most recently in research focus has been on the history of the mental testing movement in the United States. He is currently at work on a book, The Mental Testing of Ellis Island Immigrants from 1908 – 1918.  Dr. Merydith is also a licensed psychologist in the state of New York.
