The RIT School
Psychology community continues to be active in conferences both
locally and at the national level. Both professors and students
present their research on a yearly basis.
The New York
Association of School Psychologists (NYASP) held its annual
conference from November 8th - 10th, 2007 in
Albany, NY. The overall theme for the conference was "Lighten Up:
Having Fun While Getting The Work Done!" and was held at the Crowne
Plaza in the city. Dr. Suzanne Graney presented RTI: The basics
and beyond for school psychologists Thursday morning, November
8th.
The 40th
annual convention held by the National Association of School
Psychologists (NASP) will take place in New Orleans, LA from February
6th - 9th, 2008. The theme is "Resilience:
Building Strength for Life" and two RIT graduate students will be
presenting this year. Third-year student Cathy Lesio and Dr.
Jennifer Lukomski will present Accountability for Mental Health
Counseling in the Schools. Another third-year student, Rebecca
Mowell, will also present a paper with Dr. Lukomski entitled
Assessing Deaf College Student with Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder: Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive
Function - Adult Version versus CAARS.
