- In June of 2007, Professor Harvey retired from the Greece Central School District after 31 years of working as a school psychologist. While a psychologist in Greece she wrote and received four grants from Imagine Mini-Grant, the Office of Professional Development, which serves to encourage and support projects that improve the quality of education for all students through innovative and creative approaches. The following programs were created and delivered:
- SUPER Kids – a school wide stress reduction program for elementary students
- Peace Builders – a school wide peer medication program
- Regarding a Student: Use of a Neurodevelopmental Framework within the School (a staff development program to help teachers and support staff at West Ridge Elementary School have a common understanding of the neuropsychological underpinnings of learning)
- Uncovering a Piece of the Puzzle: The Role of Scotopic Sensitivity in the Reading Process
- Additionally as a school psychologist, Professor Harvey organized and facilitated book students for the Greece CSD’s School Psychologists, which include the following
- The Neuropsychology of Reading, 2005/2006 School year
- The Neuropsychology of Writing, 2005/2006 School year
- Responding to Intervention: Principles and Strategies for Effective Practice, 2006/2007 school year
- The Neuropsychology of Math, 2007/2008 School year
- This year, in retirement, Professor Harvey is teaching at RIT, working as a consultant at the Harley School, and volunteering time to help with parent education for Parent Advocates for Students with Special Needs (PASSN).

- Worked as a School-Based Mental Health Clinician within the Student and Family Support Center at Thomas Jefferson High School. Created and implemented pilot summer program for youth with a mental health diagnosis funded by the Rochester City School District.
- Also worked as a Primary Therapist / Intake Coordinator at Crestwood Children’s Center in the Outpatient Clinic. Received a Quality Award for Excellence from the President of Hillside Family of Agencies for redesigning the outpatient intake process. Part of search committee for trauma model in Crestwood Children’s Center, Residential Treatment Program. Led search committee for Snoezelen Room applicability to clients diagnosed with PTSD.
Research Interests
Part of the IPT research project at Mt. Hope Family Center studying depression in female teens. Training to complete assessment interviews with female teenagers and their mothers using a semi-structured clinical interview, The Kiddie-Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia.
Currently researching child abuse and trauma-related psychopathology, the developmental impact of trauma, the impact of interpersonal trauma across the life span and treatment interventions of complex trauma for children and adults.
