Image as Evidence

This is a spread of a magazine that is  all about the assassination of President Kennedy and how Johnson was sworn in on a plane right after it happened. In the reading by Sturken and Cartwright, they talk about Image as Evidence. Although the examples that they give is more based on science, I think these photographs along with the article, are great evidence to making people believe not only by reading but also by seeing the pictures. I know from my experiences personally its always easier to believe something after you have seen it, and I’m sure most people would agree with that. And hearing that the president was killed, you may not believe it, but seeing it and reading about the actual occurrence gives you much more evidence and is therefore believable. Therefore this image is a good example of ‘Image as Evidence.
