People and Tabloids

Like Becker’s text said tabloids are full with violence, sex, accidents, and society scandals and sadly this it’s why the sell. “United States press historians point to this as a low point for the press, an expression of what they consider the loose morals and loss of ethical standards that threatened public and private life.” (1992, Becker, p.236). Even though professional historians of journalism consider tabloid as low class the truth is that they target the common people and what the common people like are scandals. They like to see the bad side of humanity and that’s why they sell. Tabloid shows the human side of celebrities and shows them at their lowest helping the audience feel part of the high class world.
