Starry Nites Cafe

The Dickinson article, Joe’s Rhetoric: Finding Authenticity at Starbucks speaks about the naturalness and authenticity of Starbucks and how is choose to identify and at the same time differentiate itself in comparison to other coffee shops. The photograph above was taken at Starry Nites Café, and shows how they differentiate themselves through visual images such as the use popular art as murals like Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, show works from local artists from The Shoebox Gallery, and use décor such as antique gold chandeliers and bronze frames. Since the café is located in the Art District of Rochester, they use their visuals to attract local customers.
