RIT is particularly proud of its strong connections with business, industry, and the not-for-profit sector. We value the thousands of employer partners that regular work with us to access our student and alumni talent, support our research programs and opportunities, enroll their employees in our academic programs, and help fund so many of our initiatives to improve and advance the university. The calendar schedule change will not in any way detract from the importance of those relationships of the effectiveness of our partnerships.
The commitment, for example, to cooperative education and other experiential education programs remains as strong as ever and academic units are working now to revise student co-op work schedules to accommodate the calendar change mindful not only of the integrity of the program but the needs and interests of the employer community. Response from our employer partners to the change has been very positive and confirms the university's course and direction. More specific information will be available as we move through the review and transition process and will be shared with all our employer partners.
