Upcoming Registration Dates and Advice
Registration Advice for Transition Students
Even though Transition Students won’t be registering for semester courses until spring of 2013, there are some basic principles you should keep in mind when registering for upcoming quarters.
- As a general rule, it’s important to register for reasonable and appropriate course loads to maximize your chance for academic success and timely degree completion.
- If your academic program (major) contains course sequences (two or three consecutive courses with the same title and consecutive numbers—e.g., Calculus 281, 282, 283 or Data Analysis 319 and 320), try to complete the entire sequence before fall 2013 or hold off beginning the sequence until fall 2013 or later.
- If finishing a sequence requires you to delay taking some courses, your best bet will usually be to delay electives.
- If you want to re-take a quarter course to raise the grade, try to do so before fall 2013. (And remember that repeating courses in which you’ve received a satisfactory grade is not recommended.)
