Sloan Foundation Grant RIT has been awarded a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundaton to develop a Professional Master's Degree program in Bioinformatics. In receiving this award, RIT becomes one of eleven institutions located throughout the US to be given this opportunity.
NSF Sponsored Workshop for Educators Educators are challenged to integrate the diverse disciplines underlying modern Bioinformatics into our courses and curricula. For the second consecutive year RIT invited educators from colleges and universities throughout the US to join its faculty for a three day workshop focusing on these challenges. Specifically the workshop was designed to:
• introduce computer scientists and biologists to each other’s discipline
• identify methods for incorporating computer science into the biological sciences
• identify methods for incorporating the biological sciences into computer science
• promote the formation of a network of collaborating educators
This workshop was made possible through support from the National Science Foundation.
