Biographical Information for Bill Brewer


Bill Brewer possesses a Bachelors degree in Health Education from SUNY Cortland and a Masters degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from SUNY Empire State College. Bill has defined his career by promoting good health through an active lifestyle. His work experience includes corporate, commercial and medical rehabilitative settings where he has worked as a health promoter and fitness specialist. Mr. Brewer is an American College of Sports Medicine certified Exercise Specialist, and an adjunct faculty member of the world renowned Cooper Clinic.

Prior to joining RIT, Bill was the Exercise Physiologist for the Health and Physical Education Department at Monroe Community College where taught a wide variety of courses including the science curriculum within the Physical Education Studies Program.

As Director of Exercise Science Program, Bill will be developing the Exercise Science Program to enhance the utilization of exercise as a therapeutic modality within our healthcare system. Areas of investigative interest include cardiorespiratory adaptations developed through exercise, thermoregulation during physical activity and the most compelling area of all, the role of adherence to regular exercise in the preservation of functional capacity.

The mission of Bill’s educational endeavors is to seek the synergistic point of convergence where activity, good nutrition, stress management, and values clarification create a wellness lifestyle that provides an optimal life experience.
