RIT honored its inventors at the first annual Inventors' Dinner and RIT Creator's Award ceremony.
Among those honored for US patents were Bruce Smith, Richard Land, and Joseph Hornak.
Dr. Hornak, Professor of Chemistry & Imaging Science, was honored for his US patent
Resonator for Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Wrist
#5,542,424 with RIT graduate Scott Szeglowski and RIT. The device they invented, an
asymetric single-turn solenoid,
produces high quality magnetic resonance images of the wrist with less radio frequency power.
