As a Research Scholar, students in the program are well-positioned to apply for one or more of the following awards:
ASM Student Travel Grant: To provide support for students attending an ASM meeting.
Rochester ACS Undergraduate Travel Grant: The Rochester Section Undergraduate Travel Grant Program is providing funds this year of $400 towards travel and housing for up to 15 undergraduate students to attend a professional ACS meeting at which they will present their research in a poster or oral presentation. Any full-time chemistry or chemical engineering undergraduate currently attending a college or university in the Rochester ACS Section is eligible for a travel grant.
ASBMB Undergraduate Student Competetive Travel Award: This award is to assist undergraduate students presenting research at the ASBMB Annual Meeting and competing in the ASBMB Annual Undergraduate Student Research Poster Competition. The ASBMB Annual Meeting is held in conjunction with Experimental Biology.
As a Research Scholar, students in the program are well-positioned to be nominated for one or more of the following awards:
COS Research Scholar Award: This award The COS Research Scholar award recognizes truly exceptional undergraduate researchers. The key characteristics of a COS Research Scholar are involvement in a long-term mentored-research experience, excellence in that research project, evidence of meaningful peer review of the work, and at least one-instance of dissemination of the research beyond the academic unit.
Barry M. Goldwater Fellowship: The Scholarship is widely considered the most prestigious award in the U.S. conferred upon undergraduates studying the sciences. It is awarded to about 300 students (college sophomores and juniors) nationwide in the amount of $7500 per academic year (for their senior year, or junior and senior years). It honors Goldwater's keen interest in science and technology.
