Mission

The College of Science Advisory Council elevates ideas from the staff to the Dean that will enhance the social and professional culture of the COS staff. We promote a rewarding experience at work so that staff can be successful and engaged.

Co-Chairs are Jennifer Santoru and Brenda Mastrangelo

Our subcommittees are:

• Employment at RIT. This subcommittee stays current with University policies and changes in regards to employment. They communicate directly with HR reps to address staff concerns and get answers. They also developed the new staff appraisal packet that was used for the first time this year.
• Activities. This subcommittee plans all of the staff activities that we have throughout the year, including the retreat. They have also set up summer book club, bike rides, and helped encourage ASL instruction for staff and faculty.
• Communications. This subcommittee handles the PR for COSSAC, including managing the Twitter feed, disseminating event information, and reaching out to staff.
• Awards & Recognition. This subcommittee is responsible for finding ways to keep staff engaged by soliciting praise and encouragement from the COS staff, faculty, and students about our staff, and for organizing the end of year staff awards nominations.
