Biology or Biotechnology Degree
with a Master of Business Administration
Earn Both Degrees
in as little as
Five Years!!
Begin an exciting and rewarding career in management for the rapidly growing science and health care industries. Not only are salaries very attractive (starting at over $50,000/year, according to the newest Barron's Guide to Graduate Business Schools), the jobs are particularly exciting for those grads who don't want to work in the research laboratory setting but still want to remain deeply involved in biology and biotechnology.
RIT's School of Life Sciences and its College of Business have designed an opportunity for you to earn a Biology or Biotechnology Degree and an MBA at RIT. By careful planning and selection of your undergraduate courses you can waive up to six graduate MBA courses and complete the RIT MBA in as little as three more quarters after you finish your Biology or Biotechnology Degree. By selecting certain undergraduate courses, you can "waive" (eliminate) graduate courses that you would have taken as part of the MBA. You can do this without having to take any heavy undergraduate course loads.
However, before you make any decisions about the pursuit of an MBA, take a lot of time to explore the field and see if the added degree would be a good choice for you.
Need-based Financial Aid can be available for all five years. In addition, merit-based Graduate Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis by the College of Business to support you while you are completing the MBA.
These two degrees form a very powerful combination that is highly attractive to employers!! Jobs are exciting, and often involve traveling around the US and foreign countries. Many employers also offer Co-op/Internship opportunities for students who want to fully explore this career field before graduation. You will meet people who are working in some of the most exciting fields of science and medicine.
