Graphing One-Dimensional Motion
Using graphs of motion
View the animation and answer the following questions.
- Does the graph accurately plot the data? Check two or three points.
- What is the name of the path that each ball travels?
- What is the name of the curve on the graph for each ball?
- How can you determine average velocity from the graph?
- How can you determine instantaneous velocity from the graph?
- At what time are the instantaneous velocities of the red ball and the blue ball equal? Use the graph to determine this.
- At what time are the instantaneous velocities of the black ball and the blue ball equal?
