It's RIT’s most philanthropic 24 hours of the year! As the official kick-off for RIT's annual giving campaign, on ROAR Day the RIT community comes together to give more than $120,000 to support almost 350 scholarships, academic programs, clubs, organizations, and more.

Also, thanks to the 24 Hour Matching Gift Challenge, it’s the best time to make even more of an impact. So mark your calendars for October 5 and let’s ROAR in 24!

ROAR for Athletics Challenge

You don’t have to be in the stands to ROAR on your favorite RIT team

RIT Alumni, Parents, and Friends ROAR Here!

While gifts to RIT are appreciated on any day of the year it is especially important that RIT’s generous alumni, parents and friends ROAR on October 5 in order to get RIT’s annual giving campaign off to a ROARing start and to ensure the impact of your giving is felt throughout the entire academic year.


The ROAR Day 24-Hour Matching Gift Challenge is Back
on RIT's Campus

When RIT students, faculty and staff make a gift on October 5 between 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m., generous members of RIT’s Board of Trustees will match it.

  • Student, faculty and staff gifts of $5 up to $40 per person will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $40k total; gifts over $40 will receive a $40 match.
  • Gifts can be directed to a donor’s favorite area of RIT––an academic program, scholarship, sport team, club/organization, etc.
  • Matching dollars follow the donor’s gift designation.

We need YOU!

Volunteers are needed on October 5 to work at a ROAR Day table location of their choice for at least one hour. We are looking for volunteers to help drive faculty, staff and students to a ROAR Day tables to make a gift and join in the fun of the day.

ROAR for Athletics Challenge

Are you the biggest RIT Tiger fan? Well now’s your chance to ROAR as loud as you can in support of your favorite team, no face paint or foam fingers necessary!


Here are the rules:

  • The ROAR for Athletics Challenge is a competition between RIT teams to increase the membership in the RIT Athletic Association on ROAR Day, October 5, 2016. The dollar amount of each gift is not important, it's the number of donors per team.
  • The top three teams will get a financial boost to their budget for the 2016-17 academic year.
    • The overall winning team will receive $3,000
    • The second place men’s team will receive $1,000
    • The second place women’s team will receive $1,000
