An Easy Way for You to Benefit
The number of RIT alumni who make a gift compared to the total alumni of record defines our alumni participation rate. That participation rate is a key benchmark in determining national rankings, along with components such as class size, faculty qualifications, and retention rates.
If there was an easy way for you to benefit from RIT's standing in national rankings, would you do it?
As an RIT alum, the market value of your degree increases when the university's national rankings rise. There is one very easy way for you to impact RIT's national rankings - make an annual gift to the Fund for RIT. Any gift, no matter the amount, is a gift that counts toward our alumni participation numbers, which in turn, drive up our rankings.
The logic is simple - if RIT is a really good school, it will be viewed well by a large percentage of our alumni. If our alumni view it well, then they will support it financially. We know from alumni surveys that you value your RIT education. But for alumni giving, the numbers don't show that. Below, RIT participation rates are compared to other participation rates:

All gifts, any size, push our rankings up. And when rankings go up, you and all RIT alumni benefit.
Compare RIT's alumni support to key peer competitors. It's clear that these schools have an advantage over RIT:
