RIT is committed to acknowledging a gift, in writing, in a timely, accurate, and gracious manner. We value our donors and wish to always bestow our gratitude upon receiving a gift. Every gift to RIT is acknowledged according to its level and type.

Presidential Acknowledgements

Gifts and pledges of $50,000 and above to any area of the university are acknowledged quickly, accurately and appropriately by a letter signed by the president of the university. Our donor stewardship team works closely with the Office of the President in coordinating these letters to let donors know that their financial support is gratefully received, vital to the campus community, and being used according to their stated wishes and expectations.

Dean or Vice President Acknowledgements

Gifts and pledges of $500 and above to a specific college or unit within the university, are acknowledged by the college dean or unit vice president of the specific college or unit impacted. Our donor stewardship team works closely with the colleges and units in coordinating these letters to let donors know that their financial support is appreciated, vital to the success of the area supported, and being used according to their stated wishes.

Memorial or Honorarium Acknowledgements

Memorial or Honorarium Acknowledgements

Names of donors who contribute to memorial or honorary funds are shared with family members and friends associated with these accounts through letters sent from our donor stewardship team so that they may offer additional gift acknowledgements.

Nathaniel Rochester Society Welcome Packet

First-time leadership level donors who contribute $1,000 or above annually receive welcome packets outlining the recognition and access provided by the Nathaniel Rochester Society.

Receipts

Official gift receipts are sent to all donors at any level of giving. Gift receipts serve as acknowledgement of gifts to donors and detail the amount of the gift and the intended use by the university. An appropriate thank you message is also included as all gifts are important to RIT regardless of the size of the gift. Alumni and donor participation is of our highest priority.
