"My colleague and friend, Jim Winter, spent his entire professional career in financial aid administration. He was intelligent with a very dry sense of humor. He was an avid baseball fan and outdoorsman. He regularly practiced his faith by serving others, and in that regard, used his detailed knowledge of financial aid to help make an RIT education affordable for students and their families. I give to RIT because I see the impact that RIT has had on so many students including my oldest daughter, Elizabeth '11. I direct my gifts to the Jim Winter Memorial Scholarship to honor a friend and colleague and his commitment to student success. By giving directly to the Jim Winter Memorial Scholarship, I know that my gift is having a direct and tangible impact on students because the scholarship is unrestricted and is given to students who demonstrate financial need."
