— The simplest type of charitable gift is a gift of cash, generally by check, credit card or debit card. Also, consider donating your car to Insurance Auto Auctions (formerly Charity Fundings) and name RIT as the beneficiary. The university gets the proceeds and you get a charitable deduction. For more information on donating your vehicle, call 585-426-1030.

— When it comes to deciding on your gift to RIT, your heart may say: "make it $100!" But your budget may say: "Make that $10." Now you can follow your heart and stay within your budget. Become a Sustaining Donor and make monthly payments ($5 minimum) through the security of your credit card. A small amount every month can add up to a gift that really has an impact on the area of RIT that you value most. It's a painless and powerful way to give, and it's simple to sign up! — You can double or triple the value of your gift if you or your spouse work for a matching gift company. Contact your human resources department or visit rit.edu/matchmygift and search our online matching gift clearinghouse to find out if your company has a matching gift program and how to submit an application. RIT gives you credit for both gifts.

—Payroll deduction is an easy way for RIT faculty or staff to give to RIT. You can make a one-time gift and designate when you want the gift to be deducted. Or, you can make a pledge for the year and set up a biweekly or semimonthly payment schedule. You can also choose to make an ongoing gift that will renew automatically each year. To initiate a payroll deduction, all you have to do is fill out a payroll authorization form that sets up the total gift amount and the payment structure you want. RIT and NTID forms in PDF format are available below. Print out the form, complete it, and send it to the Development Office via interoffice mail or U.S. Mail (address below). For more information, call the Office of Development at 585-475-5500.
