RIT Hockey has enjoyed a steady rise to national prominence, including men’s Division II and Division III championships and a trip to the NCAA Frozen Four and in 2012, the NCAA Division III women’s national championship. These extraordinary achievements are the result of decades of outstanding play and planning.
It's now time for the next step in the RIT Hockey Plan. In November 2010, RIT President Bill Destler announced the launch of an effort to build a new arena that will help the men's and women's teams continue their march. One year later, the arena was named The Gene Polisseni Center in recognition of a partnership gift from the Polisseni Foundation and Tom Golisano. And in fall 2012, RIT will break ground on a new home for RIT Tiger Hockey!
