RIT's Student Giving Program started off great in the 2006/2007 school year. Since then, it has grown exponentially thanks to a Matching Gift Program that was started by President Destler and his wife, Dr. Rebecca Johnson. Subsequently, the matching gifts also have been funded by faculty, administrators, alumni and friends in the RIT Community. Below, you will see a chart that shows the Student Giving Program results — amazing!

Real Accomplishments!
Student giving makes a difference to RIT in so many ways. In the past it has:
- Helped with the renovations of the SAU for expanded student club space
- Supported hundreds of student and professional clubs, Greek organizations, scholarship funds, athletics, colleges
- Set up an endowed fund for the Mini Baja/SAE car program (Read more here.)
This year, we are asking students to consider supporting the General Scholarship Fund. The economy has hit many students and families hard, and this fund will help students stay in school and reach their educational goals. However, a gift to any area of RIT will still help the university.
The idea of student philanthropy is relatively new, but our RIT students know a good thing when they see it! While you work hard in your program, you also highly value the organizations that help you expand your talents, culture or circle of friends. An opportunity to support your favorite area of RIT — and DOUBLE YOUR DOLLARS — is very appealing. And because student giving enhances what RIT has to offer, it will also help RIT stay on goal toward becoming one of the top five universities in the nation.
It's not too late to make a gift. You have until June 30!!!
