  • A DIIT showcase booth was held at the National Association for the Deaf convention, July 2002, Washington, DC. Elissa Olsen, ICS Chair, promoted the DIIT project. Over 2,100 people attended the conference.
  • A DIIT showcase booth was held at the Deaf Way Conference, July 2002, Washington, DC.  Karen Beiter, ICS faculty member, promoted the DIIT project. More than 10,000 deaf and hard of hearing individuals from around the world attended this conference.
  • A DIIT showcase booth was held at the National Training Conference on Employment of Government Employees Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, April 2001, in Bethesda, MD. Donald Beil and Elissa Olsen represented the project. This conference was attended by over 500 deaf and hard of hearing professionals.
  • Lange, Donna, project PI, and Beil, Don, project co-PI. "Expected Impact on Deaf Students of NSF-Supported Faculty Leaves". Formal panel presentation at the National Science Foundation Advanced Technical Education Principal Investigator (PI) Conference in Washington, DC. October 26-28, 2000. In addition, a project showcase has been held annually at these meetings.
  • Elissa Olsen. "The Deaf Initiative in Information Technology Project." July 2000, 45th Biennial National Association for the Deaf Conference, Norfolk, VA. Approximately 35 individuals attended the presentation; they were surveyed regarding their interest in specific technical topics.
  • A DIIT website (www.rit.edu/diit) contains general information about workshops as well as detailed information on each workshop offered by the project. The email address, diit@rit.edu, is used by the project and has functioned to allow several hundred potential attendees to communicate directly with the project PI or co-PI.
