Below are typical examples of the publicity received by the Deaf Initiative in Information Technology (DIIT).

Feb/March, 2002 Deaf Rochester News (of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Community) carries a full-page article about upcoming DIIT workshops (Wireless, Photonics, Visual Basic, Access). Included are two photos of past workshops. A 1/4 page add "Need new technical skills" also appears in this issue.
January, 2002

Publicity -- Computer training in sign language for people who are deafPostings appear in the following major deafness-related Internet interest groups (list-serves). The articles promote upcoming DIIT workshops, including our upcoming offering in California.

It announces the offering of "PC hardware Maintenance and Repair" and "Object-Oriented Programming Using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0." Both are offered as part of the DIIT grant.

Bock, member of the National Visiting Committee (NVC) of the DIIT project (and Advisory Software Engineer, IBM), is featured on the IBM intranet for his role on the NVC. This feature story will bring considerable visibility to NTID and to IBM efforts to foster development of a pipeline of talented deaf NTID/RIT graduates to IBM.
