Description and Goals

 

Attend the two-day Project Management using MS Project workshop June 24-25, 2008 at a cost of $225, at RIT/NTID in Rochester, NY. The workshop will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

 

Are you responsible for leading, managing or just working with a team of others on a project at your workplace? Are there time tables, cost estimates, and other people involved that you need to depend on? If so, this two-day workshop would be good for you.


Microsoft Project (MSP) is a project management software program developed and sold by Microsoft which is designed to assist project managers, leaders and workers in developing plans, assigning resources and tasks, tracking progress, managing budgets and Analyze workloads.

 

Topics: What can MSP do for you?

  • It can do calculations accurately for you.

  • It makes visible the parameters it needs and informs you of any problems.

  • It allows for “what-if’s to make changes to the project and see the effect of those changes before you finalize your plan and commit it to work.

  • It allows progress to be tracked so that you can make adjustments to keep on target.

  • It aids in communication with built-in-reports, ability to export PowerPoint presentations, Excel and Access project data, send information by email and pass information over networks and the Internet.

Prerequisites

 

Workshop participants must be familiar with personal computers and working with Windows XP.
