Description and Goals

 

Attend the five-day Adobe Photoshop CS3 workshop July 14-18, 2008 at a cost of $500, at RIT/NTID in Rochester, NY. The workshop will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

 

Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard software application used by professionals working with digital images. The Adobe Photoshop CS3 workshop is for individuals that already have some skills in using Adobe Photoshop and would like to take it to the next level. In this workshop, you will learn the intermediate and advanced skills in working with a very sophisticated software application to manipulate digital images.

 

Topics


• Use of layers and channels
• Using masks
• Photo retouching
• File formats, compression, and resolution issues
• Layer clipping
• Making shadows
• Using layer modes
• Using curves
• Replacing color
• Using vanishing points
• Creating composite images (merging two digital images into one)
• Other tools and techniques as needed to resolve visual problems


Prerequisites


This workshop would be a perfect opportunity to upgrade your AdobePhotoshop skills. This is a comprehensive workshop which will enable an individual with intermediate-level computer skills and some Photoshop experience to develop advanced-level capabilities. This workshop will be taught in an Apple Macintosh environment.

Tony Toscano- Workshop Leader

 

Tony Toscano is a Associate Professor in the Arts & Imaging Studies department. He is CEO of a display company, a working artist and a committed teacher of people who are deaf and have multiple disabilities. His artwork has been exhibited in numerous galleries nationally and abroad and published in books and magazines. He is a recognized expert in the area of imaging and consults locally and regionally. Tony received a certificate in painting from the Atelier Frochot in Paris, France, a BFA in Print-Making and Photography from the Museum Art School in Portland, and a MFA in Fine Art Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
