The Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) is a New York State grant funded initiative designed to foster academic excellence for under-represented or economically disadvantaged full-time college students majoring in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or licensed professions (i.e. allied health, accounting, social work, etc.).

Services

  • Meetings with CSTEP staff
  • Funding for research experience
  • Funding for textbooks
  • Funding for conferences
  • 1:1 tutoring
  • Professional development activities and workshops (i.e. resume and interview prep)

 

Eligibility

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • New York State resident
  • Full-time student
  • African-American, Latinx/Hispanic-American, Native American of Alaska Native, or economically disadvantaged as defined by New York STate income guidlines
  • Pursuing a licensed profession, health-related profession or a career in STEM
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Attendance to at least 2 CSTEP workshops, events or activities each semester
