What are the levels?

General English: Basic, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Academic English: Academic Reading and Writing

How many hours are there in one English course?

300 hours for levels 1-4 and 90 hours for Academic Reading and Writing

How many students are in a class?

Class size varies, but it is not more than 10 students. Academic Reading and Writing has a cap of 19 students.

How much are the courses?

AED 15,000 per semester for levels 1-4 and 9,500 for Academic Reading and Writing.

Do you have a scholarship program for tuition?

Yes, it is up to 20% off, so the course cost 12,000 AED. That's only 40 AED per hour.

When do the classes take place?

Classes are between 9:00 and 1:30 pm. Academic English is offered from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Are course books included in the price?

No. Books cost approximately 700 AED.

Is there an exam at the end of the course?

There are tests and assessments during the course

Which course should I take?

If you wish to improve your English for personal/professional reasons, you should take the General English course. If you wish to enroll at RIT Dubai and have not met the ministry requirements of a 550 TOEFL/6.5 IELTS, you will need to enroll in the Academic Reading and Writing class.

Is there and English placement exam so I know what level I should take?

Yes, the director of the ELC will give an exam that will test grammar, writing, and speaking. There is no charge for the test, and it usually takes about an hour.

Do you have night classes available?

Yes, the ELC will be running night classes starting in August 2015.

Who will teach the courses?

Native English speakers with experience teaching in the region
