General English: 4

What are the levels?

General English: Basic, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Academic English: Academic Reading and Writing

How many hours are there in one English course?

There are 280 hours in each level, and 84 hours in Academic Reading and Writing.

How many students are in a class?

Class sizes vary, but we usually have between 10 – 15 students per level.

How much are the courses?

The courses are 12,000 AED after a 20% scholarship. That is the lowest price of any of the universities in Dubai. Academic Reading and Writing is 9,500 AED for the term.

Do you have a scholarship program for tuition?

Yes, it is up to 20% off, so the course cost 12,000 AED. That's only 40 AED per hour.

When do the classes take place?

Classes are Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 to 1:15 P.M. Academic English is offered from 3:15 to 5:15 P.M.

Are course books included in the price?

Books cost 500 AED for each level.

Is there an exam at the end of the course?

There are tests and assessments during the course.

Which course should I take?

If you wish to improve your English for personal/professional reasons, you should take the General English course. If you wish to enroll at RIT Dubai and have not met the ministry requirements of a 550 TOEFL/6.5 IELTS, you will need to enroll in the Academic Reading and Writing class.

Is there and English placement exam so I know what level I should take?

Yes, the director of the ELC will give an exam that will test grammar, writing, and speaking. There is no charge for the test, and it usually takes about an hour.

Who will teach the courses?

Native English speakers with experience teaching in the region.
