Emirates Robotics Competition

Emirates Robotics Competition

Robotics technology has been identified as one of the key technologies for future ready smart cities. Robotics will have a transformative impact in a variety of new markets and on diverse human social aspects, including robot applications in disaster response, healthcare, domestic tasks, transport, space, manufacturing, and construction. However, there is a gap between current reality in robotic capabilities and the requirements of potential applications. Enabling technologies for such applications include robots working more autonomously in dynamic, unstructured environments, while collaborating and interacting with other robots.

We aim to focus on some of these enabling technologies, by providing a demanding set of benchmark robotics challenges. The robotics competition will encourage and inspire undergraduates from local universities to tackle relevant robotic challenges. The competition is defined, managed, and co-sponsored by Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai, Dubai Future Labs and Khalifa University.
