Current RIT Dubai student, Tarun Yenna along with Linda Merieau and Rabiya Mahmood were declared as winners for the 10th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit in Dubai. The project is a new social initiative for women called the Ladies Link. The project addresses the social issue that despite of high female university enrollment of 60% in UAE, women do not pursue employment or advance in their careers. Many factors contribute to this issue but an important reason is the lack of mentorship. Research shows that employees with mentors stay at an organization longer and progress faster. Founder member, Linda Merieau had two mentors when she was a young professional, therefore she would like to help other young women. Ladies Link will provide a platform to young women earlier in their career by matching them with a mentor who is an experienced career woman. The Ladies Link team is currently seeking partnerships with leadership specialists, government entities and prominent women in the UAE.
