About

Dr. Maki received his MSc (1981) and first PhD (1984) in Applied Mathematics in the field of Dynamo Theory from the University of East Anglia (UK). Twenty years later he obtained his second PhD (2004) in Computing Science in the field of Meta-Heuristic Optimization and Operations Research, also from the University of East Anglia (UK).

Prior to joining RIT, Dr Maki worked for 29 years in many universities in different countries; 8 years in Basrah University (Iraq), 12 years in the University of East Anglia (UK), 1 year in New Castle upon Tyne University (UK), 4 years in Ajman University (UAE), and 4 years in Jubail University College (KSA). In addition to his research contributions both in Applied Mathematics and Computing Science, Dr. Maki is proud to have taught thousands of undergraduates as well as postgraduates from various nationalities. During his academic career, Dr. Maki has also assumed many administrative and managerial duties like head of departments and head of committees.
