Electrical Engineering BS - Energy Option

 

RIT Dubai is now offering the Energy Option for the Electrical Engineering Bachelor program. 

Energy has received a worldwide attention in recent years because of the diminishing natural resources, emergence of novel technologies such as smart grid as well as engineering innovations in photovoltaic cells, wind turbines and other renewable energy sources. In addition, modern power system management involves energy conservation, an area that has also elicited opportunities for research.

Energy Option Curriculum

Students enrolled in the energy option are required to complete a minimum of five courses in power systems analysis, power electronics, smart grid designs, energy conversion and renewable resources. The five courses replace the two Free Electives, the Restricted Elective, and two Professional Electives in the general EE curriculum. Energy courses include: Clean Renewable Energy Systems & Sources, Photovoltaic Science and Engineering, Energy Conversion, Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution, Power Electronics, Advances in Power Systems, and Smart Grids.
