RIT Dubai welcomes new students and Faculty

RIT Dubai welcomed new international faculty and students for the new 2016/17 academic year during a series of events last week.

New bachelor's students and their families participated in Orientation week held over 3 days. New students were welcomed by the President Dr. Yousef Al Assaf and senior staff and took part in a series of innovative workshops before moving on to social activities including team building, cinema excursions and a desert safari. Graduate students were welcomed at an evening orientation session catering for working professionals.  

Dr. Yousef said "We are delighted that these students and academics are joining the RIT Dubai family. It's great to see the students from all over the world embarking upon their journey with us. Our students are taught by a diverse group of leading researchers and academic faculty and our new faculty are indicative of this."

New faculty members were welcomed at a semester 'kick-off meeting'.  The diverse team have extensive international experience and qualifications from world-leading universities in Canada, the US, UK and Sweden.  

Dr. Khalid Khawaja, VP of Academic Affairs said "RIT Dubai undertook a comprehensive international search this year and are very excited about the new faculty joining us who will really add to the already experienced team at RIT Dubai.  

​As well as Emirati and regional students, the new intake includes one of the most diverse groups of incoming students with students from over 40 nationalities.
