The idea of the Magazine was born at a meeting of the Universities marketing club, run by Waqas Sarguroh who took care of the practical organization of the magazine. The Writers team led by Mashal Waqar the editor-in-chief and Shahmeer Sheikh the sub-editor consisted of a diverse group of students from Business, computing and engineering. In here first editorial Mashal states, “Words have power, and it is these very words that we’ve wanted to showcase with WRITERS. … WRITERS is a collective effort of a group of individuals and I’m so incredible proud of what we’ve accomplished with our first issue.” The magazine was fully designed by Raina Zakir, our talented designer who spend hours of time editing the magazine and making sure it would look perfect.

The RIT Dubai WRITERS TEAM

The magazine is supported by Dr. Rizwan Tahir who is part of the business faculty in the University and acted as an advisor for the publication. RIT Dubai staff members and the university management, supported the project from the very beginning. Dr. Khalid Khawaja, the Vice President of RIT Dubai stated in the opening ceremony after seeing the magazine for the first time that he “was impressed and proud of what our student can accomplish.”
