RIT Dubai Master of Engineering Management student Khaled Al Attar was selected to participate in the two-day National Youth Dialogue Retreat which covered several topics related to youth such as interaction, health, empowerment, values, responsibility, safety, productivity, and education.
The retreat held in Dubai’s Design District, was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to empower young people. It saw active participation from their Excellencies ministers, officials, and decision-makers in the UAE who joined discussions and shared their experiences on topics that are significant for young people. Participants stressed the importance of the initiative which embodies the vision of UAE leaders in enabling young people to be the leaders of tomorrow, and to actively contribute to the achievement of happiness and prosperity in the country. Under the scheme, programs will be developed to encourage responsibility and a pioneering spirit within the young. Special majlises people will be set up in every ministry involved with young people to improve services. Young people will be targeted through media campaigns and global best practice will be examined to ensure high levels of engagement. A National Centre for Youth Data will be set up to collect all youth-related data and act as a support mechanism for decision-making. An annual Youth Retreat will bring together young Emiratis and the UAE’s leadership to define priorities and agendas.
