Timelines & Requirements
We consider transfer applicants for admission on a rolling basis to all four academic quarters of the year. Since space is limited in some of our programs, we encourage you to complete your application soon to receive full consideration for admission and financial aid. To apply online or download our application, please use the links above. Some programs may only be available for entry in fall.

Application Timelines

Portfolio Requirements

The following undergraduate programs require a portfolio:

Art

  • Fine Arts Studio (Undergraduate)
  • Illustration (Undergraduate)
  • Medical Illustration (Undergraduate)

Design

  • 3D Digital Design (Undergraduate)
  • Graphic Design (Undergraduate)
  • Industrial Design (Undergraduate)
  • Interior Design (Undergraduate)
  • New Media Design & Imaging (Undergraduate)
A portfolio is not required for freshman admission to Photography, Film & Animation, and American Craft programs. The School of Film & Animation and School of American Crafts recommends students submit a portfolio if one is available.

College Transcripts

Your application for transfer admission will not be complete until all college transcripts have been received. Official transcripts should be sent directly to RIT's office of undergraduate admissions:
